Guidelines for Student Presentations

Some excellent guidelines for students have been produced by the Australian Society for Limnology (ASL). We have adapted this years judging protocol in accordance with these guidelines and you can see what the judges will be marking you on here: Posters and Oral presentations.

Conference Travel Funding for Students

NZFSS offers funding to assist students to get to the yearly Freshwater Sciences conference. Information about this can be obtained from Brian Sorrell, NZFSS Secretary/Treasurer.

1. Give Brian Sorrell your name and what Uni you're at either before or during the conference.

2. You have to be presenting either a talk or a poster, and you have to be a member. (How to join)

3. There is $100 per person available up to a max of 12 people in 2004 (the amount each year is half of the interest earned on NZFSS bank accounts).

4. If there are more than 12, those that have come the furthest get first priority.

5. Funds are usually distributed after the conference.

Overseas Travel Funding

Freshwater Sciences may be able to help you get to overseas conferences. Check out the details about the S.I.L. 1987 Trust Fund Travel Award here
